Adrenal Fatigue Super Smoothie Recipe!

*I could have sworn that I posted this recipe before, but I can’t find it anywhere!    Requests come to me daily for my “super smoothie” recipe because it starts of the day right by balancing blood sugar and helps stop gnawing cravings the rest of the day. Every ingredient in this delicious (almost ice cream like!) recipe is chosen with a specific action in mind.  So don’t go adding all sorts of stuff (bananas, pineapple, agave, sugar laden nut milk, soy milk) unless you really understand nutrition!!!  Long term daily enjoyment of this smoothie has helped repair my insulin resistance, blood sugar swings, anxiety / panic attacks, and adrenal fatigue.

SUPER SMOOTHIE RECIPE

2 scoops Power Meal

5 drops YLTG grapefruit oil for the taste, chemo prevention, bloating (lymph support)

2 drops YLTG  nutmeg oil for the adrenals

¼ tsp of Redmond Real salt for the adrenals

1 heaping tblsp of coconut oil for thyroid, blood sugar, and yeast (candida)

1 raw egg for the protein, fat, and vitamin A (1/2 an avocado can be used instead of eggs)

Stevia extract to taste

About 10 ice cubes in the blender 1st, add ingredients.  Then fill up with enough water so it will blend until smooth. Blend super well so it gets fluffy and the coconut oil and ice cubes are no longer chunky.  Add Young Living’s stevia extract to taste.  It’s not only for the sweetness, but stevia is known to help balance blood sugar and decrease cravings.

Sometimes I add 1/4 cup of blueberries, raspberries, cherries, or strawberries to this. Nothing else. NO BANANNAS OR PINEAPPLE – although delicious they are very high in sugar.

If you are at work or on the road and can’t take time out with a blender, just do Power Meal as a snack. It taste goods even on the go by just adding water.

In the summer time I will often crave ice cream. By slightly tweaking the recipe above by adding a few more ice cubes and 1/2 an avocado – the smoothie will be very thick and can be eaten with a spoon. Yummy and health … PERFECT!

Hey Jen….regarding the smoothie recipe…YOU DID post it back in June under the YL Convention blog…people just have to scroll thru other info to get to it.

    You’re welcome!
You can add sweetener depending on your sweet tooth! Some people like it sweeter, some don’t. Personally, I like to add about 1/2 a dropper of Young Living’s Stevia not only because it makes it sweeter – but because it’s the true herbal extract with all the minerals and other phytonutrients of the plant. (That’s why it looks like tar). It’s got significant levels of chromium, which helps insulin utilization.

  3. Just wanted to know where you get the ingredients for the smoothie.

    Robyn,
Most of the ingredients come from http://www.anxietytherapyremedies.com. (The Power Meal, grapefruit & nutmeg essential oils, and stevia). The other ingredients come from the grocery store in the organic section.
    Hope this helps!
Email me if you’d like help with ordering.

  5. Interesting, thanks for that. My son has a terrible aversion to eating fruit , so I made it into smoothies for him and then he loves it! I also found some great smoothie recipes and thought I’d share – lots of other great ideas.

How many smoothies can you get out of the Power Meal?

    Thanks,
    Melissa

    Melissa,
I get about 15 or so. For people who want to incorporate Power Meal everyday, I encourage them to chat with me. There are sweet discounts available for them. I’ve been using it for years and I know it’s one of the main things that rebuilt my adrenals when I was super sick a few years ago. This smoothie was my life preserver 🙂
    Welcome!

Wow….what a power meal. I wish I could live off smoothies. You did post this quite some time ago and I made it with a different protein powder. Now, I’ll try it with it the one your taking about as I’ve had that one before and it tastes so much better than the one I used. Have anymore good smoothie recipes.
And where do you weigh in on a smoothie snack (4oz) of plain yogurt, berries (any type) and ice? Too much sugar?

I might have some more recipes coming with the 5 Day Cleanse I’m doing.
I think you’ll be okay with your plain yogurt with berries! Good job 🙂

    Hi Jen!
    Thanks so much for this!
I just received the YL components of your smoothie recipe and made my first one.
I am about 2 months into seriously working to recover from adrenal fatigue. My blood sugar has bounced all over the place, sometimes I wake every 2 hours at night and have to eat, other times I can go for 6 hours and I’m fine…
    It’s challenging but improving.
I was having one of those mornings where I was playing catch up with my blood sugar and nothing seemed to be pulling me out of the crash.
Then the FedEx man showed up with Power Meal.
I made it right away, drank it down and am feeling steadier by the moment!
What are the bulk buying discounts you were referring to? I think I may stick with it for a while if it continues to be so effective.
    Thanks!

  11. admin says:

Super awesome! So glad to hear that.
I sent you a private email on the bulk buying discounts. I’ll have to walk you though how to do that 🙂
    Be well!
    Jen

    Jen,
What about using himalayan salt or celtic sea salt?

  13. Sandy says:

I would be interested in the bulk buying discount. Can you use Balance complete instead of power meal (which I don’t have)? Can’t wait to try it.

  14. admin says:

So long as they aren’t processed, you should be good to go. If it’s white, RUN!
    Be well,
